Hello, my name is Jenn Somtrakool. I am a student at Northern Kentucky University, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.  

 This is my blog for my EDU 313 (Instructional Technology) course.

Educaplay.com is a website that teachers can access to do a variety of activities for students K - 12. Teachers can create activities, or use a activity created by another educator. There are multiple way to create an account. You can; log in using your Facebook, Google, Windows Live, or you can sign up simply by using your email too. I personally prefer signing in with my Google account because my email is associated with Google. With Educaplay, you are able to use the search bar to search for different activities for certain topics, and you are able to decide if you want to use this specific activity for your class by looking over it beforehand. If you are unable to find an activity that works for your class, you can easily create your own by clicking on "New Activity." There are 16 different types of activities available to be created: 1. Blogging in Education

Blogging is an amazing tool for students to use; it gives students the chance to be exposed to the 21st century's style of learning with technology, while also sharing ideas and working with other peers.  As a blog author, I think it is a great idea to collaborate with students who may or may not be my own students. This would allow them to communicate with others virtually, and teach them how to write a proper message using a keyboard, as opposed to the normal pen and paper. In addition from being a blog author, and also a college student, I think a great collaboration assignment that would be like a "pen pal" assignment via blogging.
