Educaplay.com is a website that teachers can access to do a variety of activities for students K - 12. Teachers can create activities, or use a activity created by another educator.
There are multiple way to create an account. You can; log in using your Facebook, Google, Windows Live, or you can sign up simply by using your email too. I personally prefer signing in with my Google account because my email is associated with Google.
With Educaplay, you are able to use the search bar to search for different activities for certain topics, and you are able to decide if you want to use this specific activity for your class by looking over it beforehand. If you are unable to find an activity that works for your class, you can easily create your own by clicking on "New Activity."
There are 16 different types of activities available to be created:
1. Riddle

4. Dialogue Game
5. Dictation Game
6. Unscramble Letters Game
7. Unscramble Words Game
8. Matching Game
9. Word Search Puzzle

On each activity, Educaplay includes a short video tutorial on how each activity works and how you can create one. One each activity, you are able to set the number of attempts allowed, a time limit (or no time limit), and if your activity will be sensitive to capital letters. With a premium account, it will allow you to change your privacy settings, customize the colors of your activity, and a little more extra features. This website's free plan comes with all the necessary resources, but there are different premium plans available that range from $4.75 - $46.75 per month if you are interested.
Once you finish creating your activity, you will be able to "publish activity." But before you are able to publish, you have to add a minimum of 3 tags to your activity, and have a certain amount of questions. Different types of activities may have different requirements before you are able to publish.
The first activity that I created was a Christmas Crossword Puzzle. The instructions are to fill in the puzzle with the name of each Christmas image shown. For example, the first image is of a gingerbread man. So, the students would type in "GINGERBREADMAN" in the column (Note: all activities on Educaplay are to be completed online). There are 13 words and the puzzle should be filled out. When you hit "check" when you are finished, it will show you if you got them all correct. This is an activity where students will be practicing their spelling skills. Instead of adding pictures like I did, you can add clues, definitions, etc.
The second activity I created was Christmas Fill in the Blank. With this activity, you type out a story or paragraph. You will have to click the words that you want to take out to leave a blank. You will be able to choose if you want a word bank, and if you want the students to type the word, or just click on the words to fill in the blanks as they go. I wrote a small paragraph about the Christmas season from a child's point of view. The student will have to read and fill in the blanks by typing in the word. I provided a word bank as a help tool.
The third activity that I created was a Christmas Word Search, which is pretty explanatory. It is a word search generator. You, the teacher, enter is the words that you would like to be in the word search, and the puzzle will automatically generate itself. When the student starts the activity, there will be a word bank provided.
On all of these activities, you can establish a time limit. But I chose not to. On some you can also add a help button, or show help. This is a really great site to incorporate into your lessons.

I walk you through on creating a Fill in the Blanks activity, along with showing you how to share, and how to set up the features in setting. This tool is a really awesome resource to use in the classroom. It can used and implemented in multiple ways. It can be utilized as a pre or post assessment, a study tool, or just as fun activities for the kiddos. With the holidays coming up, I have created some different projects/activities with a festive theme that can be used during the holiday season for reading and/or spelling practice.
